The purpose of this paper is to critically examine the
relevance and consistency of the current industrial incentive
system in the Korean machinery industry and to provide some
proposals for reform in order to promote international
competitiveness as well as to facilitate development of infant
industries that can potentially become internationally competitive
in the near future.
Chapter Ⅱ will critically evaluate the current promotion
policies relevant to the Korean machinery industry. Based on
these analyses, several reform proposals for the promotion of the
Korean machinery industry will be discussed in Chapter Ⅲ.
