‘북한의 인권과 우리의 대응’이라는 주제로 열린 특별대담은 북한의 인권 상황, 한국을 포함해 국제사회의 북한 인권문제에 대한 대응을 개괄하고, 이신화 북한인권국제협력대사를 초청하여 윤석열 정부의 대북 인권정책의 특성을 살폈다. 11월 북한경제연구협의회는 최근 수위가 높아진 북한의 도발과 이로 인해 높아지고 있는 남북간 군사적 긴장감에 주목했다. 특히, 향후 북한의 핵실험 가능성을 살펴보고 한국 및 국제사회가 취할 수 있는 실절적 제재 방안들을 한국이 당면하고 있는 지정학적 상황을 고려하여 제안했다.

In the special dialogue held under the theme, “North Korea’s Human Rights and South Korea’s Response,” participants were briefed on human rights situation in North Korea and the responses from the international community, including South Korea. Lee, Shin-wha, Ambassador for International Cooperation on North Korean Human Rights, were invited to this dialogue and shared her understanding about the characteristics of the Yoon administration’s policy on human rights in North Korea. The North Korean Economic Research Forum in November focused on North Korea's recent escalation of military provocations and rising tensions between the two Koreas. In particular, the Forum looked into the possibility of North Korea's nuclear test in the future and recommended practical sanctions that South Korea and the international community could use taking into account pending geopolitical conditions surrounding the peninsula.
